Sam Buswell, RD & Dance Artist at 2Faced Dance

Sam Buswell
RD & Dance Artist

  • Sam Buswell, he/him, is a contemporary dancer who’s been moving since the age of 7, inspired by his sister, who got him into tap, modern, and ballet. Later on, during school and college, he discovered breakdancing and contemporary, styles that became his way of expressing himself through movement.

He trained at Trinity Laban, graduating with a First Class Honours degree and receiving the Marion North Award for Outstanding Achievement in Performance (out of a cohort of 200 students). After that, he joined VERVE, the postgraduate company at Northern School of Contemporary Dance, where he earned a Distinction and got a mention in Dance Europe Magazine for being “courageous, charismatic, and physically strong.”

After graduating, Sam freelanced with Motionhouse and Tamsyn Russell before landing a dream job with 2Faced Dance Company. Since then, he’s toured across the globe, from Abu Dhabi to China, and in 2023 stepped into the role of Rehearsal Director. He’s already led rehearsals for multiple shows.

For him, dance started as a way to express emotions and connect with others, and now, through teaching and performing, it’s become a way to help others do the same.

Fun fact: He's somehow made it through life without ever watching Titanic

John Robinson, Dance Artist at 2Faced Dance

John Robinson

(and loved every minute of it). John then joined 2Faced in 2019 as an apprentice dancer through Northern’s Post Graduate Apprenticeship scheme, and was fortunate enough to join 2Faced full time in 2021.

I work in the arts simply because I love it. Dance has always been something I’ve enjoyed and now I have the opportunity to perform as a living, and pass on the skills and knowledge I’ve gained over my years to the next generation of incredible dancers”

Fun fact about me – I can recite every word of every Eminem song. Test me when you see me if you don’t believe me.

Tom Pipes, Dance Artist at 2Faced Dance

Tom Pipes

  • A dancer from a small town in southern Derbyshire.

In 2018 I moved down to London to train at London Contemporary Dance School (The Place) where I achieved a BA(hons) degree. This led me on to Northern Contemporary Dance Schools MA where I became the Apprentice for 2Faced Dance in 2021.

Now I'm one of the full-time dance artists here at 2Faced Dance. I love working in this sector for so many reasons but mainly, I love putting on amazing shows for all ages across the country. I think it's so important that people have access to high quality art, especially for young boys that see us do what we do at this level.

Once I dyed my hair blue! Terrible idea. Never again.

Annabelle Hennan
Community Dance Artist

  • I’ve been dancing for as long as I can remember, growing up in a family of dancers. Both my parents are dance teachers, and my grandma was a professional dancer in the 1960’s, so dance has always been a big part of my life. I’ve been passionate about K-pop ever since I first discovered it in 2017. I would spend hours in front of the TV learning choreography from performance videos, then proudly perform for my family. Growing up, there weren’t many opportunities to share these routines, but that changed when I went to university and joined the K-pop Dance Society. In my second year, I became the society’s leader, teaching regular classes, performing at events each year, and leading our competition team to second place at the prestigious Kings of K-Pop competition in London. Between my studies, I spent a year living in South Korea, where I got to immerse myself in the culture, experience the heart of K-pop, and take classes from world-famous choreographers who work withtop idols. Now, I’m excited to share that experience with my students. My classes are all about learning amazing choreography in a supportive, fun environment where you can grow as a dancer and enjoy the music you love.
