2FD STORY
Born from a vision to break boundaries and defy expectations, 2Faced Dance Company began as a bold experiment in a small town — and grew into one of the UK’s leading contemporary dance companies.
Founded in Hereford in 1999 by Artistic Director Tamsin Fitzgerald, the company has always stood for more than just movement. We stand for possibility.
Rooted in raw physicality, powerful storytelling, and inclusive practice, 2Faced Dance exists to challenge perceptions, amplify unheard voices, and open doors through dance.
Our journey has taken us from street corners to international stages, from youth centres to global festivals — always with the same mission: to use dance as a force for change.
At the heart of everything we do is people. From our groundbreaking work with young male dancers to our commitment to creative health, wellbeing, and community connection, we believe dance belongs to everyone. We create opportunities for all to move, grow, and thrive — whether through performance, participation, or just showing up and being seen.
Our home in Hereford is more than a studio; it’s a creative engine room. Here, we nurture new ideas, support artists, and bring communities together through residencies, workshops, and performances that spark connection and conversation.
2Faced Dance Company is fearless, inclusive, and always evolving. We are not just creating dance — we are creating impact, opportunity, and a future where everyone can take centre stage.
