2Faced Dance Company is an ambitious, socially engaged dance company making powerful work from a rural base and reaching audiences and communities locally, nationally and internationally.

For over two decades, we have created bold, high-quality contemporary dance performances alongside participatory programmes that place people at the heart of creativity. Our work often sits at the intersection of artistic excellence and social impact, engaging with communities who may face barriers to accessing the arts and creating spaces where people can connect, create and thrive.

Rooted in a rural setting, we understand both the opportunities and challenges of making and sharing exceptional cultural work outside major metropolitan centres. This perspective shapes our commitment to access, inclusion and ensuring high quality arts experiences are available beyond city-based cultural infrastructure.

Alongside our performance programme, our socially engaged work supports children and young people, emerging and professional artists, intergenerational communities and people whose voices are too often underrepresented. We believe dance can be a catalyst for dialogue, belonging and change.

We do this with entrepreneurial spirit and resilience. As an independent organisation operating without regular funding from Arts Council England, we have built a dynamic and responsive model through partnerships, fundraising and earned income, while continuing to deliver ambitious artistic and community impact.

As we enter a pivotal phase, we are seeking passionate, curious, strategic thinkers to join our Board of Trustees and help guide the next chapter of our journey.

What We're Looking For

We welcome people from a wide range of backgrounds and lived experiences. You may be an experienced trustee or considering your first board role.

We are particularly interested in individuals with experience in areas such as:

Fundraising and philanthropy, Finance and accountancy, Health/Mental Health , Legal or governance, Technology and the Arts, Touring, Marketing and communications,, HR and organisational development

Above all, we are looking for people who:

Believe in the power of arts and social impact

Bring fresh thinking, challenge and curiosity

Want to help shape an ambitious and resilient future

Will champion us. Our values, mission and vision

As a trustee, you will:

• Attend four board meetings per year (approximately two hours each, normally online, one Away Day and occasional additional involvement for subcommittees or events.

• Provide strategic oversight — guiding long-term planning, financial health, and organisational risk.

• Act as a critical friend to the artistic and executive leadership, offering support and constructive challenge.

• Ensure the company meets its legal and regulatory responsibilities as a registered charity.

• Use your networks and expertise to open doors, advocate for the company, and support fundraising efforts where possible.

Trustees are unremunerated, though reasonable expenses are covered. Full induction and ongoing support are provided.
