  • That’s understandable! Whenever you try something new it can be exciting and nerve wracking at the same time. On arrival you will be welcomed by your class tutor who will make you feel relaxed and at ease. Before long you will have made new friends and will look forward to seeing them every week at class. Many people spend too long worrying, come down and try it. What do you have to lose?

  • If you or your child has never been to dance class before and you’re nervous about taking the plunge our classes are perfectly pitched to help you/your child gain physical confidence and raise your/their self-esteem within dance. This class makes you/your child feel positive and that you/they can achieve any challenge that gets thrown at them.

  • Contemporary contact/partner work is a discipline which mainly comes from Contact Improvisation, Release, Flying Low and elements of acrobatics. It is oriented to the development of physical relationships in duets, trios or group work.

  • K-pop, short for Korean pop music, is a global phenomenon known for its catchy songs, vibrant visuals, and powerful choreography. It blends a variety of music styles, from pop and hip-hop to R&B and EDM, into high-energy performances that captivate audiences worldwide. In the dance world, K-pop routines are famous for their precise, dynamic moves and engaging stage presence, making them both exciting to watch and fun to learn. Whether performed in music videos, on stage, or at fan events, K-pop dance is as much about expression and creativity as it is about skill.

  • Contemporary Dance is an overall term that describes a variety of different techniques and ways of moving the body that draws influence from a range of other styles. Born out of breaking the balletic rules, contemporary is highly creative, unbound and free. Floor work, fall and recovery, improv and fluidity are all explored through influences of Graham, Cunningham, Limon, Flying Low and Release technique. 2Faced Dance are world leaders in developing and pushing the boundaries of contemporary dance and are known for combining other influences into the technique to create a new and different way of moving.

  • Conditioning is ensuring a high level of physical fitness so your body can safely perform movement and skills with the least risk of injury. For dancers, body conditioning is an important part of their practice to strengthen their bodies and ensure flexibility. Body conditioning encompasses a variety of different techniques to achieve this such as, yoga, gym, weight training, pilates and calisthenics.

  • We don’t run an exam-based system here at 2Faced Dance as we believe that children and young people have enough exams to worry about in school. We do however have progression routes, whether that’s auditioning for our youth company, 2FY, encouraging students to apply for the National Centre for Advanced Training or just adding an additional class to your timetable. We do recognise dedication, passion and talent in everyone attending our classes and encourage students to gain a versatile dance vocabulary, signposting students to attend other dance schools or dance classes where needed.

  • We are super chilled about clothing at 2Faced Dance, our philosophy is be who you are.  With that being said we would recommend loose fitting clothing like tracksuit bottoms and a loose T-shirt, so you can move about freely. For contemporary you will wear socks or have bare feet. We do sell 2Faced merchandise and would recommend purchasing a t-shirt for shows and sharing.

  • All our tutors have an enhanced DBS check and have attended safeguarding training. Some tutors are first aid trained and all tutors have the correct insurance.

  • We offer a free trial for all our classes (excluding 2FY and classes for adults) so you can try before you commit.

Once you have committed we don’t offer refunds part way through a term (except for in exceptional circumstances)..
