Where are they now

Many young people across the years have passed through our dance classes and our youth company. These students are given guidance, understanding and a superb dance base in which to start further training or work. Our students have gone onto study, work and have successful careers in the arts and from time to time come back to Hereford to work with the professional company.

Here is a list of what some of our ex-students are doing now

Hugh Stanier

Hugh was the company’s first student to go and study dance full-time….. Hugh began dancing with 2Faced Youth when it first formed in 2003.  After their second year at the Edinburgh Fringe he went on to train at Northern School of Contemporary Dance.  Upon graduating in 2008, he returned to 2Faced for their professional tour of 'State of Matter'.  Since then Hugh has worked on creating his own work with peers, and with several other companies including 'Cscape' and 'STAN Won't Dance' on their production of 'Babel'.

Dave Crowe

Dave first started dancing whilst Tamsin Fitzgerald was teaching at Hereford College of the Arts. He joined break dance classes and later the youth company before going off to do a Foundation in Dance at NSCD. During his time as youth member Dave started to learn how to beat box and performed in several of the youth company’s shows and at the Edinburgh Festival with his beat boxing skills. Now Dave has gone on to become one the world’s best beat boxers performing with a multitude of top artists including Joss Stone and HayMoonshaker.

Daniel Oval

Didge began dancing in his teenage years joining break dance classes in Hereford. He joined the youth company and then went on to train at NSCD . Since graduating Daniel has gone on to work in the commercial sector on shows such as 'So You Think You Can Dance and the BBC's 'Move Like Michael Jackson' and within theatre with companies Harnisch Lacey Dance, Joon Dance and Time Gentleman Please

Dirty Feet

Josh Houghton

Josh started dancing at Hereford College of the Arts and joined breakdance classes and the youth company. He then went on to complete a degree in contemporary dance at NSCD and upon graduating in 2011 he became an Apprentice Dancer for Motionhouse. Josh now joins Daniel Oval on the upcoming tour of The Lock In.

Sam Amos

Sam joined both breakdance classes and the youth company. He performed with the youth company at various events such The Edinburgh Fringe Festival, London's Bush Hall, Birmingham Hippodrome and the MTV Awards in Lisbon. At 16 Sam joined travelling circus before setting up his own company

TrashDollys Dance

Alex Rowland

Alex was introduced to dance through his background of hip hop and was introduced to contemporary dance through joining 2Faced Youth Dance in Hereford.  Graduating from the Northern School of contemporary dance in Leeds, after completing a foundation, BPA(hons) in contemporary dance, and completing a Postgraduate diploma course performing with the touring graduate company, Verve. He has worked with Champloo, 2Faced Dance and Being Frank Physical Theatre performing and teaching internationally.

Tom Tindall

Tom started his dancing as a member of 2Faced Youth where he quickly went on to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe festival from 2004-2007.  After finishing at college Tom trained at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance completing a foundation and BPA(hons) in contemporary dance.  After finishing Tom joined the Postgraduate Company Verve, where he worked with Akram Khan, James Cousins, Jordan Massarella and Milan Kozanek.

Nathan French

Nathan is one of the original members of 2Faced taking part in the first ever schools project in 2001.  Nathan has trained through the company and is the Company’s Media Officer and a Teacher as well as a Dancer.  Nathan has performed for 2Faced at the MTV Music Awards, Lisbon (2005), ‘The International Dance Festival Birmingham’ – Hofesh Schecter (2008), ‘Put Your Foot Down’ with Salah (2010) and with 'Wings of Desire'  (2012). Nathan has been in a full run of 2Faced performances at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival from 2004-2011. Nathan has also toured 2Faced Dance Company’s ‘State of Matter’ and ‘Still Breathing’ across the UK. Nathan has also performed nationally and internationally with works ‘Third’ and ‘Infract’ and the latest production of 'In The Dust'

Fiona Skidmore

Fiona was a member of our youth company before studying Dance at the University of East London. Fiona now works for a variety of hip-hop companies in London

Shelly Haden

Shelly was a member of our youth company and is currently studying dance full-time at NSCD in Leeds

Michele Ross

Michele has attended all our classes and been a long standing member of our youth company. She has now gained a place at Circus Space and begins her training in October 2012.

Richard Holmes

Richard was a member of our classes and youth company before going on to study further on the CAT scheme in Birmingham. He now goes onto Bedfordshire University to study Dance as a degree.
