Tamsin Fitzgerald | Artistic Director
Tamsin trained at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance and after graduating founded the all male company 2Faced Dance. Tamsin has since created many works for the company including 7.0, Still Breathing and State of Matter which have toured the UK and internationally to great acclaim. Tamsin has led the company to its current position as a NPO for ACE. She was awarded a prestigious Rayne Fellowship for her choreography, which has led her to work alongside Australian Dance Theatre, The Ballet Boyz, and the Birmingham Rep. Tamsin is a current associate artist of DanceXchange in Birmingham.
Tamsin’s commissions have included Wings of Desire with Circa for IDFB 12, Watch This Space a co-collaboration with Hofesh Shechter for IDFB 08, SOAP The Show for Circle of Eleven and the MTV Awards. Tamsin has also created work at various conservatoires and for CAT schemes. She has been guest speaker at the National Youth Dance Conference and at the National Dance Teachers association (NDTA) and is a member of the West Midlands Youth Dance Advisory Board. Tamsin's first book, Hip-Hop and Urban Dance has been published in both the UK and USA.
Tamsin has been commissioned to create a new piece for children as part of Moko Mix in 2013 for Dance East.
